About Trevor Saunders

Trevor Saunders was a young man with his whole life ahead of him — hardworking, devoted, and determined to build a better future for himself and those he loved. He took responsibility for his past mistakes and was focused on becoming the best version of himself, especially for his young son, who was just six years old when Trevor’s life was cut short.

Trevor worked hard to provide a home for his family — his son and his longtime girlfriend, Makayla. He was active, driven, and proud of what he built. In March 2022, Trevor suffered a rare spinal stroke that forever changed his life. Despite the challenges and lasting effects of that experience, he faced his new reality with courage and perseverance.

Though there were difficult days, Trevor’s heart and determination never wavered. His love for his son and his commitment to doing better guided him through every struggle. Trevor’s story is one of resilience, responsibility, and love — and his memory continues to inspire those who knew him to seek truth, accountability, and change.

About Pam Ashby

Pam Ashby is a dedicated community member and local business owner who has turned personal tragedy into a mission for change. After the loss of her son, Trevor Saunders, while he was in the custody of the Androscoggin County Jail, Pam has committed herself to advocating for transparency, accountability, and reform within Maine’s correctional system.

Through this website, Pam provides a central place to access public information, news coverage, and updates surrounding Trevor’s story — not only to ensure that his voice is heard, but also to shine a light on the systemic issues that led to his death.

Pam believes that meaningful change begins with awareness. By sharing Trevor’s story and connecting others to the truth, she hopes to help prevent other families from experiencing similar heartbreak and to push for a system rooted in compassion, responsibility, and justice.
